An 8 week adult acting class covering basic text & scene work techniques such as scansion, language & rhetoric, objectives, obstacles, actions.
Open to all skills levels 18+ from seasoned actors to Shakespearean newbies!

JOHN MICHAEL COX
Founding Artistic Director of Vagabond Shakespeare
An actor, director, fight director, producer, & teacher, John Michael holds both a BA and MA in Theatre Arts, and an MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy at The George Washington University. Hailed as “marvelously comic” by DC Metro Theatre Arts, and praised for his “fierce commitment” by Greenville News, John Michael has proven his flexibility as an actor in over 60 productions within the last 20 years. Local SC credits include Peter & the Starcatcher (Centre Stage); Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tempest (Vagabond Shakespeare); Macbeth, Hamlet (Greenville Shakespeare Company); Macbeth (Upstate Shakespeare Festival); Robin Hood (SC Children’s Theatre). Other credits include Doctor Faustus (Richmond Shakespeare); Measure for Measure, Comedy of Errors, Hamlet, Love’s Labour’s Lost (Hoosier Shakespeare Festival); Taming of the Shrew, Nell Gwynn, Tempest (Texas Shakespeare Festival). His experience on stage combined with his years of teaching university courses in acting, voice, & movement enable him to coach actors on all levels, and help them take their next step toward grounded, attentive, & fully activated performances. His daughter, Rosalind is why he smiles.
