THE SHOW

Goodnight Sweet Prince: A Solo Performance of Hamlet brings Shakespeare’s masterpiece to life in a condensed and fully embodied format. The show becomes an imaginative collaboration between actor and audience as characters come to life with minimalist staging & design elements. The show highlights themes of grief, the consequences of action & inaction, madness, betrayal, existential questioning, and revenge. Accompanied by optional Q&A discussions or educational workshops, this experience provides an opportunity to engage with the text, analyze its themes, and explore its relevance to modern life.

Classroom Study-Guide available upon request.

Length: 75 minutes

Accessible & Engaging: This one-man performance makes Shakespeare more accessible to those who may feel intimidated by a traditional production.

Flexible & Personalized: The performance can be easily adapted to fit any schedule, and workshops tailored to any skill level from beginner to advanced.

THE REVIEWS

“It was absolutely incredible! Far exceeded my expectations! Non-stop engaged!”

“Seriously, it was perfect. It was entertaining, easy to follow, and the pacing did not lull once.”

“Loved the interactive aspect! Simple but powerful use of props & tech, and VERY clear language.”

“FUN. Finding the humor—and then sudden moments of deep, genuine pathos.”

“This adaptation conveyed the story at a brisk but manageable pace. The acting, technical choices, and framing held me at rapt attention. I felt I better understood Hamlet after watching this show.”

“I brought my 11-year-old. It was a terrific first live Shakespeare theater experience. I thought the length was great and it was comical enough to engage a tween!”

“Even though there was only one actor, I felt as if I were watching several actors at the same time.”

“The use of humor was brilliant. I loved the specificity of choices that delineated character shifts. The transition from Hamlet dying into Horatio blew me away. I'm still not quite sure how it was done—one moment I was seeing Hamlet's dying body and the next I was looking down on it with Horatio. It was almost cinematic in its smoothness.”
