Goodnight Sweet Prince: A Solo Performance of Hamlet brings Shakespeare’s masterpiece to life in a condensed, embodied format. An imaginative collaboration between actor and audience, the show brings the characters to life with playful audience interaction, modern music, and minimal design. Themes include betrayal, depression, family, grief, love, madness, murder, power, and revenge.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS  |  Adaptable to unique circumstances upon request.

Space:      20’ square minimum performing space with additional 8’ behind a rear curtain is needed

Lights:     Our Stage Manager needs to be able to bring all the lights in the room to a blackout

Sound:     Vagabond can provide a small sound system, or plug into a venue’s larger system

Props:      Vagabond provides all props & set pieces including an 8’x7’ curtain

 

ARTIST  |  John Michael Cox is an actor, director, and former theatre professor, serving as the Founding Artistic Director of Vagabond Shakespeare. Hailed as “marvelously comic” by DC Metro Theatre Arts, and praised for his “fierce commitment” by Greenville News, John Michael has been honing his performance flexibility since 2002, and has performed in 20 of Shakespeare’s plays. Training: MFA, Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy at The George Washington University.

Learning outcomes: Develop a deeper appreciation for classical literature, as well as improved communication, critical thinking, cultural awareness, empathy, and self-expression.
